It has also kept Bank of America Corp (BAC.N),Evisu, Credit Suisse Group AG (CSGN.VX), UBS AG (UBSN.VX), CCB International and ICBC International Holdings as bookrunners on the deal, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

AIG is set to name Citigroup Inc (C.N), Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE), Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N) as joint global coordinators for the IPO, sources have previously told Reuters.

AIG, which is nearly 80 percent-owned by the U.S. government, is divesting AIA and other assets to repay taxpayers after receiving a $182.3 billion aid package at the height of the financial crisis.

HONG KONG (Reuters) – American International Group Inc (AIG.N) has scrapped plans to sell a strategic stake in its Asian life insurance business, AIA, ahead of its initial public offering, a source familiar with the process said on Friday.

The focus will now shift to discussions over selling cornerstone stakes in AIA. The success of AIA's IPO will hinge largely on demand from cornerstone investors, as was seen in the record-breaking IPO of Agricultural Bank of China Ltd (1288.HK) (601288.SS) last month.

Reuters reported on Wednesday that AIG was set to decide on pre-IPO stakes by early next week,American eagle, although expectations were running low for a deal to be struck.

AIA's IPO is expected to raise about $15 billion through a Hong Kong listing by late October or early November, in what could be the biggest IPO on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The tight schedule for the IPO left little room for strategic investors to conduct due diligence leading to the process being scrapped, the source said.

AIG declined to comment.

The addition of these banks means AIG is sticking with the original group of underwriters for AIA, although with Citigroup and Goldman getting more responsibility, some roles have changed.

Several sovereign wealth funds from Asia and the Middle East, and Hong Kong business tycoons have expressed interest in cornerstone stakes in AIA, sources have previously told Reuters.

While, strategic investors are allotted shares at a discount, cornerstone investors agree to buy into an IPO at the price decided by the institutional book-building process. Cornerstone investors are normally barred from selling their shares for 6-12 months, while strategic investors have much longer lock-in periods.

The presence of strategic investors build confidence in the offer before it goes to institutional investors and also helps in setting a valuation benchmark.

About four consortiums consisting of Chinese investors had approached AIG with offers to buy a stake in American International Assurance, sources previously told Reuters.

A week after the death of his wife Nancy Dolman, Martin Short skipped Sunday’s Emmy Awards, where he was a nominee in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama category for his performance as crooked attorney Leonard Winstone on FX’s Damages.

On Aug. 21, Dolman — who reportedly had been been battling cancer — died of natural causes at age 58,Ankh Royalty, according to a coroner’s investigation. Last week, a report claimed that an oxygen tank malfunction may have contributed to her sudden death.

“They were great friends, great partners,” Close, 63,NBA, recalled of their relationship. “They had a wonderful marriage.”

She hopes her costar heals.

“He’s just such a wonderful, wonderful man,” she told Us, “and he did extraordinary work.”

Short, now 60, met Dolman during the 1972 Toronto production of the musical Godspell. They wed in 1980 and went on to have three children together: Katherine, 26; Oliver, 24; and Henry, 21.

“It’s a terrible tragedy,” his costar Glenn Close told UsMagazine.com on the Emmys red carpet. “It’s going to take a long time for him to readjust to being without her.”

DB: It’s spilt buses. So Robyn and Kelis are slightly higher up the food chain so they have sleeper buses, and out here we are having to drive eight hours to the hotel and then wake up and do more driving. But the pluses way outweigh the minuses.

US: How is it now? Are you getting to know each other?

US: What can we expect from you in the future?

So how come you may not have heard of him? Well, retire that notion because I spoke to him so you can’t make that mistake again. And if that isn’t enough, read up more on him at danblacksound.com — or, better yet, vote for him at vma.mtv.com.

DB: He has been around at some of the sound checks, but he has to be kept away from the noise. He’s a very young boy to hear all that!

US: Has Kelis’s son, Knight, been on tour?

DB: Amazing! It’s such an unusual mix of people, but I guess there’s a common thread of creating dance-filled crowds. Despite Robyn, Kelis and I coming from really different backgrounds musically, it works amazingly well. We are sold out everywhere. Independent of anything. I’m a massive fan of Kelis and Robyn. So it’s super fun to watch them play every night, let alone share a stage with them and get paid for the same audience. It’s a triple win.

DB: Not really. I’ve hung more with Robyn. Kelis, in quite a glamorous way, appears and then disappears right after the show. I’ve spoken to her briefly, but now that we’re in New York maybe we’ll have more time to hang. I’ve been spending time with Robyn. She’s from Sweden so we have that whole European thing in common.

Dan Black: Good! I’m in the middle of a tour, so everyday I’m in a whirlwind of things to do. I’m not given much time to think about it. But when I was told, I was confused and pleased, all at the same time. The people I made the clip with are super good friends of mine, so it feels especially good, and they work with me on all my visual stuff. So if I’d made the video with a random director, I’d feel good but less good. But because it’s people I know really well, it’s like a double whammy of good!

DB: I’m a massive, massive fan of the Neptunes,Baby Phat, in particular. And I remember when her first album, Kaleidoscope, came out and Super Thug, it was because of her. This was the late 1990′s and I thought it was a massive game-changing event. And the album came out, and with the stuff she did with O.D.B., I became a super fan. So it is practically surreal and amazing to be on a bill with her. She’s an artist that practically affected me when I was younger.

US: You just wrapped your All Hearts Tour with Robyn and Kelis. How was that experience?

DB: When I made my last record it was all in a bubble — in a cellar in Paris — and now I’ve played live and have seen what people connect to, and bring some of that energy in more. I’m going to start writing on the road, which I’ve never done before. It’s kind of fun to be able to come off stage and sit in a bus with my laptop when I have an idea sparked by the show.

Dan Black has 2 million YouTube views under his studded belt for his “Symphonies” video (click here to see it), he just finished touring with Robyn and Kelis and he’s even got a celebrated mashup,Iceberg, “HYPNTZ” (mixed with the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella”). Plus, the Brit-bred Parisian just nabbed two MTV Video Music Awards nominations for “Breakthrough Video” and “Best SFX (Special Effects)” for “Symphonies,” putting him on par to compete with Eminem and Lady Gaga.

UsMagazine.com: I want to start by saying congratulations on being nominated for two VMA’s for your “Symphonies” video! How are you feeling?

By Ian Drew for UsMagazine.com. To read more of Ian’s blog, click here, and don’t forget to follow him onTwitter.

US: You’ve been inspired by R&B before, sampling pieces of Rhianna’s Umbrella and taking inspiration from the Notorious B.I.G. How are you inspired now working with Kelis?

DB: On stage, I use live looping and each night it’s kind of different, so I thought it would be cool to do that on a whole track.

US: What was your latest idea?

US: Were you touring by bus?

She adds hopefully that Edwards’ new girlfiend could “make Ryan want to grow as a father. I don’t want him to find a girlfriend who just wants to party.”,Calvin Klein

But argue they do: the former couple have sparred over everything from child support to his new girlfriend to pacifiers. On one episode of MTV’s reality hit, Bookout struggled to wean Bentley, 22 months, off of his pacifier — only to have dad Edwards, 22, give in to their son’s demands.

The Chattanooga State journalism student and waitress adds that her ex isn’t much of a hands-on dad during Bentley’s visits to his home. “As far as Bentley getting fed, his diaper changed, taking a bath, it’s mainly Ryan’s mom doing all of that,” Bookout says.

Wedding bells for childhood pals Bookout and King? “We’re going to see what happens,” she tells Us.

For Teen Mom star Maci Bookout, co-parenting son Bentley with ex-fiance Ryan Edwards is no picnic.

“We barely speak,” Bookout,Primp, 19, admits in the new issue of Us Weekly. “But I don’t think it’s a bad thing. We just try to avoid arguments as much as possible.”

Meanwhile, Bentley has a new father figure in Kyle King, Bookout’s beau of six months. “It’s weird to see [Bentley] loves Kyle enough that Kyle can make him feel better…I like that emotional support that comes with having a partner,” Bookout cooes of King, 22.

“He’s just going to get [his pacifier] at Ryan’s house,” Bookout tells Us. “I think Ryan spoils Bentley and really has no boundaries as far as discipline. With me, I don’t want Bentley to grow up and be a brat when he’s 4 years old.”

Filming the upcoming History Channel miniseries The Kennedys in Toronto on Friday, Holmes, as Jacqueline Kennedy, donned the iconic pink suit and pillbox hat worn by the First Lady when tragedy struck in Dallas, Texas.

And then there is Cromer himself: He shakes off the natty tradition of the role, offering probably the least sentimental narrator you have ever seen in this much-revived work (a staple of schools and civic theatres). This is no Hal Holbrook. Rather than the avuncular tour guide, Cromer is the tough-love, deadpan, tell-it-like-it-is therapist who holds a mirror up and shows you that real life hurts. He's not twinkly or charming or emotional; he lets the audience do all the feeling.

Cromer's award-winning staging of Wilder's play began performances on Feb. 17, 2009, with an official opening night on Feb. 26, 2009 where it received rave reviews at the downtown venue. Our Town went on to win the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Production and Outstanding Direction and Obie Award for Outstanding Director.

The current cast of Our Town includes (in alphabetical order) Elizabeth Audley as Mrs. Soames, Jeremy Beiler as Simon Stimson, Robert Beitzel as Howie Newsome, Kati Brazda as Mrs. Webb, Will Brill as Joe Crowell, Jr, Nathan Dame as Sam Craig, Roger E. DeWitt as Joe Stoddard, Ann Dowd as Mrs. Gibbs, Emma Galvin as Rebecca Gibbs, Jennifer Grace as Emily Webb,Juicy Couture tracksuits, Mark Hattan as Constable Warren, Jake Horowitz as Wally Webb, David Manis as Mr. Webb, Scott Parkinson as Professor Willard, James McMenamin as George Gibbs, Jeff Still as Doc Gibbs, Jason Yachanin as Si Crowell, with Dana Jacks, Lynn Laurence, Kathleen Peirce, Keith Perry and Mark Shock.

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter previously announced the play will give its final performance on Sunday evening, Sept. 12.

What makes the staging a "landmark"? The production reinvents the American classic by intermingling actors (most of them in street clothes or suggestions of costumes) and audience, keeping the houselights lit for much of the staging and introducing a surprise element in Act Three.

This Our Town entered its second year on Feb. 26 and became the longest-running production of the play in its 72-year history with its record-breaking 337th performance on Dec. 16, 2009. At closing, it will have given 14 previews and 644 regular performances.

Scott Parkinson, who appeared in the role last summer,Coach, will play matinee performances on Aug. 28 & 29 and Sept. 4 & 5. Cromer succeeds Academy Award-nominee Michael McKean who gave his final performance on Sunday evening, Aug. 22 following a three-week return engagement.

The performance schedule is as follows: Tuesday–Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM, Sunday at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Tickets are priced at $69 & $49.50 and are available through SmartTix (212) 868-4444, www.smarttix.com, or at the Barrow Street Theatre box office (open at 1 PM daily). Student tickets at $20 are available on the day of performance only at the box office.

Obie and Lucille Lortel Award winner David Cromer, who directed and originated the role of The Stage Manager in the record-breaking landmark production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town at Off-Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre, returns for the final three weeks starting Aug. 24.

At the Barrow Street, the iconic Stage Manager has been performed by seven actors, including Cromer, Parkinson, Jason Butler Harner, Stephen Kunken, Michael Shannon, McKean and Helen Hunt.

Our Town is produced by Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, Ted Snowdon, Eagle Productions, Dena Hammerstein/Pam Pariseau, The Weinstein Company, and Burnt Umber Productions.
